Dalla chiesa parrocchiale di Vasto.

Il dipinto, pure proveniente dalla chiesa di San Bartolomeo di Vasto, non fa parte della serie degli evangelisti realizzati per la parrocchia. Stefano L’Occaso segnala nel catalogo, che i fratelli Bazzani nel 1737 acquistarono una casa dal parroco di Vasto.
San Giuseppe è riconoscibile per il bastone verdeggiante, che una leggenda dice improvvisamente fiorito a designare lui, tra altri giovani, come lo sposo voluto dal Cielo per la Vergine Maria.

From the parish church of Vasto.

The painting, also from the church of San Bartolomeo in Vasto, is not part of the series of evangelists made for the parish. Stefano L'Occaso mentions in the catalogue that the Bazzani brothers purchased a house from the parish priest of Vasto in 1737.

St. Joseph is recognisable by his verdant stick, which a legend says suddenly blossomed to designate him, among other young men, as the bridegroom wanted by Heaven for the Virgin Mary.
