Per la parrocchiale di Borgoforte, oltre ai due grandi dipinti che tuttora vi si ammirano, Bazzani realizzò le quindici tele raffiguranti i Misteri del Rosario, scomparse dalla chiesa dopo il 1930 e attualmente distribuite in collezioni pubbliche (due sono agli Uffizi) e private. I due depositati nel Museo diocesano presentano altrettanti episodi dei vangeli.
Tra i tormenti inflitti a Gesù prima di caricarlo della croce, è il terribile “mistero doloroso” della sua flagellazione, testimoniato anche dal vangelo secondo Giovanni 19,1 “Allora Pilato fece prendere Gesù e lo fece flagellare“.
